We will start on Harrisonville Lake and then move around the corner to the Wading River in the NJ Pine Barrens. This flat water paddling trip that begins in Phoenixville paddling down river with a quick portage (100 yards) to a canal, where we will paddle back upriver via the canal to the put in. No shuttle needed! Four miles, about two hours. Optional dinner near portage area at Fitzwater Station on Canal Street in Port Providence near Phoenixville which overlooks the canal and river. Mullica River Canoe Camping. Wharton State Forest. Class 1. Overnight canoe trip with camping at the Mullica River Wilderness Campsite. This flat gentle flowing and narrow river has many sharp turns as it flows through cedar swamps, savanna marshes, bogs, and forests. Instructions will be given for what to bring and how to pack your overnight gear to keep it dry.
